I have looked into what makes a safe film studio and set, and have written down points which is most likely be useful and relate to me. I have looked into interior and exterior shots and how to prevent different hazards which we will properly encounter while filming.

Camera going to use:  Sony camcorder HD with a tripod
Editing software going to us: Imovie on the apple macs

Exterior shots

• Loose leads are tapped to the floor, if not they were made sure they were out the way so if people walking past or into the shot they wouldn’t fall over
• Filming outside to make the public know we were filming as they wouldn’t ruin the shot, or walk into a safety hazard.
• The area I was filming was free from unwanted things in the set, that would give away an amateur feel to the trailer, this shouldn’t be that much of a problem as filming at my house/ at night
• To make sure there is no litter or holes etc in the ground so its an even surface that we know and recognize while walking/focusing and being free to move around freely without the fear of any hazards getting in the way
• To carry around extra equipment when going away from the house to protect the camcorder if it rained or snowed
• When filming or working behind the camera to not eat or drink near the camera, to make sure its properly put on the tripod
• When or if filming far away or in the car, make sure we can charge the camera in the car, and that we handle the camera carefully when in the car and outside on the streets/ to also drive carefully.

Interior Shots

• To make sure leads etc are out the way, to make sure that the camera isn’t tugged or turns off while filming
• To prepare the shot and let the people inside the household etc what we will be doing
• When working behind the camera or with it to not eat or drink or put it down anywhere that we can forget where it is
• To make sure hazards are sorted out the way and there is nothing to distract me or the cast, and to get props out the way if unwanted and if possible.
